precipitation  - rain, simply if it rained or not, nightly rains are not recorded
wind - estimated wind speed by by feel and observing of ocean surface
temp - temperature in degrees centigrade
sea - surface condition of the ocean (outside reefs - open sea, inside reefs may have easier conditions)

precipitation
- water deposited on the earth surface as a product of condensation of atmospheric water vapour 

showers, brief rainfalls, often heavy large raindrops, duration short lasting often only minutes,
rain, rainfall for more than one hour, can be continuous, On average raindrops are 1 to 2 mm in diameter
drizzle is fairly steady, light rainfall. The drop size of drizzle is smaller than that of rain, averaging 0.5 mm in diameter.
